Terms of Use
Effective October 8, 2026
These terms cover your use of jackpotdreaming.com (the “site”), run by Jackpot Dreaming (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
1. Information and entertainment only
The site offers free tools and articles: an after-tax jackpot calculator, scratch-ticket rankings, and a blog. Everything here is general information for entertainment. It is not financial, investment, tax, legal or gambling advice, and using the site doesn’t create a professional relationship of any kind. We don’t sell lottery tickets, accept bets or pay prizes.
2. Accuracy disclaimer
- Jackpots, odds and prizes. Jackpot amounts, cash values, odds and prizes-remaining figures come from public lottery sources. They may be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and lotteries can change jackpots, rules or games at any time without notice.
- Scratch-ticket rankings are estimates. Rankings, “percent back” and expected values are our own calculations based on assumptions, such as how many tickets were printed and remain unsold, and what the cash option on a prize paid over time is worth. They are not predictions or guarantees. Every lottery ticket is expected to lose money on average.
- Tax figures are simplified estimates. Tax amounts reflect our reading of federal, state and local rules, which may be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and may not fit your situation (for example your filing status, other income, deductions, residency, where a ticket was bought, or changes in the law).
- Check official sources. For jackpots, odds, prizes, claim deadlines and game rules, rely on the official lottery. For taxes, rely on the IRS, your state tax agency and a qualified tax professional or attorney before making any decision. If anything on this site differs from an official source, the official source is right.
3. Not affiliated with any lottery
Jackpot Dreaming is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any state or national lottery, Powerball, Mega Millions, the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), or any lottery vendor. Lottery names, game names, logos and ticket images belong to their owners and appear only to identify the games being discussed.
4. Age and responsible play
You must be at least 18 to use the site. Buying lottery tickets requires meeting your state’s minimum age, which is 18 in most states and higher in some (for example, 21 in Arizona). If you play, play for fun, with money you can afford to lose.
If gambling is causing problems for you or someone you know, help is free and confidential. Call the national helpline, 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537). State helplines:
- Massachusetts (18+ to buy): Massachusetts Problem Gambling Helpline, 800-327-5050, or text GAMB to the same number
- New York (18+ to buy): NYS HOPEline, 1-877-8-HOPENY (1-877-846-7369), or text HOPENY to 467369
- Arizona (21+ to buy): Arizona problem gambling helpline, 1-800-NEXT-STEP (1-800-639-8783), or text NEXTSTEP to 53342
- California (18+ to buy): California Problem Gambling Helpline, 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537)
5. Using the site
You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, and you’re welcome to link to it and share pages. Please don’t:
- copy or scrape the site in bulk, or put an unreasonable load on it;
- try to break, probe or get around its security, or misuse its features (including its image service);
- present our estimates as official lottery information or as professional advice; or
- use the site in any way that breaks the law.
6. Our content
The site’s text, design, code, calculations and original illustrations belong to Jackpot Dreaming. You may quote short excerpts with a link back to the page. Lottery data, names and images belong to their respective owners.
7. Other websites and data
The site links to and uses data from websites we don’t control, such as official lotteries, tax agencies and helplines. We aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or practices.
8. No warranties
THE SITE AND EVERYTHING ON IT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON’T PROMISE THAT THE SITE WILL BE AVAILABLE, UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR UP TO DATE.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, JACKPOT DREAMING AND THE PEOPLE WHO RUN IT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST WINNINGS, MONEY SPENT ON TICKETS, TAXES, PENALTIES OR LOST DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SITE, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SITE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF US$100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. THE SITE IS FREE, SO THAT AMOUNT IS $0.
Some places don’t allow certain warranties to be disclaimed or liability to be limited, so some of the above may not apply to you. In that case these limits apply as far as the law there allows.
10. Indemnity
If you misuse the site or break these terms, you agree to defend and compensate Jackpot Dreaming and the people who run it for any resulting claims, losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.
11. Changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time. We may also update these terms; the effective date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about the site or these terms will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we consent to those courts’ jurisdiction. This doesn’t take away any consumer protection that the law where you live says can’t be waived.
13. Severability and the whole agreement
If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part of these terms isn’t a waiver of it. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the site.
14. Contact
